Marie Wilson is an established artist who’s tasted top ten success in Australia, achieved (as good as) gold sales for her album ‘Real Life’, been nominated for 2 ARIA awards, and had her album released in the US through Atlantic Records.
Marie has toured with numerous international acts such as Bryan Adams, kd Lang, The Corrs and John Fogarty as well as headlining her own successful national Australian tour. She’s also toured the States, doing a Hard Rock Café tour as well as working the college circuit.
Marie has collaborated with the cream of modern music’s hitmakers. She co-wrote the single and title track of her latest album ‘Heartbreak’ with Bryan Adams, and her impressive songwriting CV includes Arif Mardin, Jim Vallance, Joe Hardy, Mark Hudson and Desmond Child. ‘Review my kisses’, a song co-written with Desmond Child, appeared on LeAnn Rymes’ latest album ‘Twisted Angel’.
Marie’s song ‘Free’ was the closing track on the Susan Sarandon / Natalie Portman movie ‘Anywhere but here’, and she recorded the title track for the Australian movie ‘Me myself I’ starring Rachel Griffiths. Her new album `Heartbreak` was recorded in Houston, Texas with legendary producer Joe Hardy. The experience of her songcrafting collaborations shines through, as she blends heartfelt stories with moving melody and music, and shares it passionately, unashamedly and honestly with her audience.
In response to a longing to help up and coming artists, Marie created Kangaroo Records, a label designed to showcase unsigned Aussie talent to the major labels of the US and Europe.
